biography

Julian Rohrmoser was born in Vienna in 1999 into a theatrical family and grew up in Innsbruck. From 2018 to 2021 he studied acting at thefilmacademy – the bilingual acting school for theatre and film in Viennaand graduated in June 2021 with distinction and a passed state examination. At the same time, he studied economics and social sciences at theVienna University of Economics and Business(Bachelor's degree 2023). Since autumn 2023, he has been studying directing atMax Reinhardt Seminarin Vienna.

In February 2023 he filmed inLos Angelesfor the feature film Present of the Past / A Life's Legacy by Immanuel Degn. During this time, he completed theAdvanced Intensive Acting Program with Diane Charles and Tanja Nolan at the Margie Haber Acting Studio in Hollywood.

Julian Rohrmoser already appeared as a child and youth actor atTyrolean State Theatreon stage, among other roles as Miki in The Celebration by Thomas Vinterberg and Mogens Rukov (directed by Michael Gampe) and as Klaus in Fear and Trembling by Haendl Klaus (directed by Elisabeth Gabriel).

In 2021 he played Franz Huchel in The Tobacconist (directed by Claus Tröger) at theWaldviertel Court Theatreas well as Hamlet in the final production of thefilmacademyatOFF Theater ViennaFurther engagements led him to theKobersdorf Castle Festival, for theTyrolean playwrights festivaland to theMerano Festival.

For film and television, he appeared in front of the camera for, among other things, the documentary Mein teuers Dörflein Mühlen (directed by Lisa Hintner, ORF/RAI), the short film Tagada (directed by Zoe Schmidt), and the series 4 Minidramen – Lüge und Wahrheit (directed by Stefan Ludwig).

In addition to his work as an actor, Julian Rohrmoser develops his own directing projects. ForÖ1He directed the radio plays Betonklotz by Jona Rausch and Mundtot by Miriam Unterthiner (Schauspielhaus Wien, Hans-Gratzer-Preis).

OnMax Reinhardt SeminarHe directed The Man Who Came Along by Jon Fosse, A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, The Silent Servant by Harold Pinter, and The Disney Killer by Philip Ridley.

In 2025 he also directed atTyrolean playwrights festivalEarth – a plot of land by Wolfgang Nöckler.

Music

Besides his work for theatre and film, Julian Rohrmoser is a passionate actor.Piano, also some cello and accordion; in addition, he sang in the Witten Boys' Choir.
